Map symbols are the media of geographical data The judgement of symbol will be different by each person under their vision and psychology. Like wise children will have different cognition abilty and status from adults. This article will use the way of questionnaire on and analysis of Variance to explore children's discrepency between Qualitative Symbols and Quantitative Symbols of map symbols. The result reveals the different cognition of gender and age in symbol type, color preferrance, size, value and shape. We hope the result will be helpful to children in design and associateduse of mapsin order to design the map which be suitable for children.
