地圖地名特殊用字造字之檢討

摘要

地圖上常會發現一些地名使用特殊字或不常見的字，用圖者除非會涉獵地名之相關知識，否則很難辨別其正確性，因此亦因而造成錯誤之沿用與傳播。近年來，由於數值地圖的大量制作，在地名之中輸入時，常需要於電腦字庫中爲地名特殊用創造新字，而其所造之字不免失之生澀怪異，其之正確性與必要性頗值得商確。本文就現行已造字之字集爲例，近一步檢討地圍地名造字之正確性與適當性。俾供未來地圖編註地名之參考。

Usually. there is some toponym with special characters (which are seldom seen) in the maps. Unless the map users have studied the knowledge about the toponym, it is difficult for them to identify the correct characters. Therefore, the mistakes are often followed and propagated by the map users. Recently, the digital map had been produced on large scale. When importing the Chinese characters, we usually have to create new characters for the special toponym in the computer character library. Owing to the imprudence and bizarrerie, we can't help suspecting the correctness and necessity. Consequently, we try to discuss the correctness of the character for the map toponym in the computer character packages, and apply' to provide a reference for the compilation of map toponym.
