In Taiwan, there have been a variety of course titles and a diversity of teaching materials adopted for information literacy courses. Since the common goal of these courses aims to build up students' information literacy and abilities, a consensus on a general scope of course contents and suitable teaching methods will furthermore facilitate the curricular design of information literacy courses and as a result will effectively improve students' information literacy and skills. Adopting content analysis, questionnaire, and interview as research methods, this study explores the current operations of information literacy courses and instructors' perspectives on the curricular design. Some suggestions are proposed in this study for the establishment of a generally feasible information literacy curriculum in Taiwan.
