Huainan region was an important place of agricultural production in Tang Dynasty. Handicraft industry and commercial trade were also prosperous in this area. Not only its solid foundation in agriculture and handicraft industry but also its exceptionally gifted geographical location made it heavily relied by Tang government. In this paper, the author focuses on the partial information derived from Dunbo #58 Dunhuang Grottoes manuscripts to investigate Huainan region's gong xie ben qian, products, population etc and also the economic advancement as a whole.
