膜厚、環氧樹脂/硬化劑當量比及冷卻方式對高分子分散液晶複合膜光電性質之影響

摘要


本研究主要目的在於探討不同膜厚、環氧樹脂/硬化劑當量比、及冷卻方式對高分子分散液晶複合膜光電性質之影響。分別以紫外/可見光分光光度計及掃描式電子顯微鏡觀察高分子分散液晶複合膜之光電特性及液晶在複合膜中之型態。我們發現,當環氧樹脂與硬化劑當量比爲1:1,並以室溫冷卻方式製成的複合膜,具有較低的驅動電壓及較佳的對比度。此複合膜可用於電子顯示及光控制元件上。

The effects of different film thickness, epoxy/curing agent equivalent mole ratios, and cooling processes on the electro-optical properties of the polymer-dispersed liquid crystal composite film have been discussed in this study. Electron-optical properties and morphology of the liquid crystal in polymer matrix of the PDLC composite film were obtained using UV/visible photometer and SEM, respectively. It is found that PDLC composite film (12μm) with equivalent mole ratio of epoxy/curing agent being 1/1, prepared by room temperature cooling process, has a low threshold voltage and better contrast ratio. The PDLC film can be utilized in making display and optical devices.
