Professional Baseball Content Analysis within Newspapers in Taiwan

摘要

The purpose of this study was to analyze the information of professional baseball has been reported in Taiwan newspapers. The samples were chosen from the news on China Times News, United Daily News, Min Sheng Daily, and The Great News. The Method taken in this study is Content Analysis, and the research period is within the regular professional baseball season in Taiwan, from March, 1995 to October, 1995. The result are as follows:
1. All four newspapers had quite a few sections to report professional baseball. The percentage is 32.30% in daily sports news.
2. Each newspaper was significant difference in the way reporting professional baseball news, and the styles were various(x^2=264.18, df=27, P＜.05).
3. The content of professional baseball news was significant difference in each newspapers, and the informations were rich(x^2=213.44, df=39, p＜.05).
4. Each newspapers was significant difference in reporting every Country professional baseball (x^2=19.89, df=9, p＜.05), but in reporting Chinese Professional Baseball was no significant difference (x^2=26.88, df=24, p＞.05).
5. Each newspapers was no significant difference in using neutrality, positive or negative terms, and neutrality＞positive＞negative (x^2=11.08, df=6, P＞.05)
