Doing Sport Research: The Philosophical Considerations of Ontology, Epistemology and Methodology

目前臺灣研究生之論文研究方法設計普遍著重於研究途徑及資料收集等技術性應用，經常忽略研究設計背後意涵的釐清與瞭解。基於此，本文探討進行體育運動研究時應具備的方法論思維。首先，闡述本體論與知識論如何影響體育運動研究之本質。其次，就其與方法論之間的關係加以說明，解釋形而上的哲學思維如何影響研究方法的實踐。文末論述哲學典範（實證主義、詮釋主義與批判實在論）對於研究架構的設定，乃至於研究途徑與方法的應用。

This article argues that it is time to go beyond the methodology and methods because current sport research of Taiwan's students is not comprehensive enough while they cannot justify their research process clearly. This article therefore delves into classic ontological and epistemological assumptions in the first section. Then by providing the relationship between ontology, epistemology, and methodology, we try to move from a meta-level concept to an empirical research design. This article ends with three paradigms: positivism, interpretivism and critical realism for readers to work through the ways in which philosophical consideration can be practiced in sport research.
