Basic Thermal Hazard Assessment on Cumene Hydroperoxide by Calorimetric Approaches

應用熱卡計對異丙苯過氧化氫之熱危害分析

摘要


自從西元1980年開始,反應性化學物質之危害性研究普遍地被應用在不同種類之儀器設備。而石化工業上,大部份的化學物質之危害,主要考量其本質熱危害與不相容性反應。異丙苯過氧化氫(cumene hydroperoxide, CHP)爲典型之不穩定過氧化物,利用微差掃描熱卡計(differential scanning calorimetry, DSC)與多頻道微量熱卡計(thermal activity monitor, TAM)來求得其反應之放熱起始溫度(exothermic onset temperature, T0)、放熱最大溫度(exothermicmaximum temperature, Tmax)與反應熱(reaction heat, ΔH)。 實驗結果指出,CHP遭遇NaOH將導致放熱起始溫度提前發生,並出現兩只放熱波峰,使其反應機制更複雜化,且於恆溫實驗下亦有類似之現象,會導致放熱提前,綜合文獻與實驗結果,評估製程及儲運中NaOH對於CHP可能造成之影響。

Since the 1980s, hazards arising from reactive chemicals had been increasingly investigated with a variety of instruments and even exotic approaches. Among the numerous chemicals, considerable attention had been given to unstable mixtures or intermediates employed in the chemical industries. To adequately lessen any thermal, there were substantial demands to select appropriate calorimeters. Therefore as to analyze reactive chemicals or their incompatibilities. In principle, calorimeters hazards, not only had different functions, but also to be versatile in operations and applications. Cumene hydroperoxide (CHP), typical unstable organic peroxide, was investigated for its inherent hazardous characteristics by two calorimeters, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermal activity monitor (TAM). Advantages and disadvantages of both calorimeters, specifically applied for the thermal hazard analysis of CHP were also descanted. The objectives were to make efforts to safer process design as well as to upgrade safety technology during the preparation, processing, storage, transportation, or even disposal periods.
