Foot Cellulitis Caused by Buried Dog Hairs

A 47-year-old female, who had 3 large pet dogs, presented with right foot cellulites and a discharging sinus at first web. During debridement at the operating room, a few dog hairs were irrigated out. The wound and infection improved thereafter. The interdigital pilonidal sinus with infection has been rarely reported to originate from pet dogs in the literature. A constant rubbing on the dogs with her feet, and poor foot hygiene may have lead to hair penetration into the skin and subsequent infection.
