This article reported the nursing experience of caring a nasopharyngeal carcinoma patient who underwent concurrent chemo-radiotherapy and experienced fatigue, mucotitis, body image disturbance, and infection. The patient's condition was assessed through observation, interview, and physical examination using the Gordon functional health assessment guide and the patient's medical history. The four major nursing problems being identified included impaired oral membrane, hyperthermia, body image disturbance, and fatigue. Individualized and complete nursing interventions were provided to improve his physical and psychological symptoms, to enhance his functional status, and to promote his quality of life.
