倓虛大師《念佛論》探析

摘要


民國高僧倓虛大師(1875-1963),中年出家,追隨中興天臺的高僧諦閑法師(1858-1932),為天臺宗第四十四代傳人,是「教弘天臺,行歸淨土」的一代高僧。他的彌陀淨土思想,都全顯於《念佛論》之中,所談的淨土法門,據理論事,以事證理,並彰顯往生成佛之旨,莫不勸導大眾老實念佛,求生淨土。筆者略分:勸修彌陀淨土法門、闡釋「自性彌陀,唯心淨土」之意、開顯《法華》即《彌陀》之旨等三大要點來探析《念佛論》,從中得知大師強調念佛求往生的好處,只要生到西方極樂世界,就永遠不再墮落,永久不再造業。他提出「自性上就是彌陀,在唯心上就是淨土」的觀念,強調西方彌陀與自性彌陀,西方淨土和唯心淨土都是一整個的。他認為《法華經》是廣說的《彌陀經》,《彌陀經》是略說的《法華經》,念佛法門與《法華經》同為最上乘法。他指出中國佛教各宗派,不論禪宗、天台、賢首、三論、法相等,自古以來都能兼修淨土。還教導我們「呼吸念佛」,強調只要人有一口氣就念一聲佛,久而久之,時時刻刻,行住坐臥,不離一句阿彌陀佛,這方是真精進。

Tarn-shiu master (倓虛大師 1875-1963), middle-aged monk, to follow Di-Xian master (諦閑法師 1858-1932), for the forty-fourth generation descendant of Tian-tai (天臺宗) .He was a generation monk, to teach Tian-tai doctrine and Pure Land doctrine. His Pure Land thoughts are all record on the ”Buddha thesis” (《念佛論》), the Pure Land Dharma talks, persuade the public honest pray to Buddha, to born in Pure Land. I think that advise to studies pure land Dharma and explain idealism Pure Land to analyze the ”Buddha thesis” (《念佛論》), emphasized that the Tarn-shiu master said born in the pure land the benefits, as long as born in the Western Paradise, to never fall, Permanent non-recycling industry. He proposed ”self-nature is Amitabha, the Pure Land is pure heart”, emphasizing the Western Pure Land and pure heart are a whole. He believes that ”Lotus Sutra” (《法華經》) is widely said the ”Amitabha Classics”, ”Amitabha Classics” is the summary for ”Lotus Sutra”, Buddha Dhamma and the ”Lotus Sutra” are the most on the Profound Dhamma. He pointed out that the Chinese Buddhist sect, whether Zen sect, Tian-tai sect, Xian-Shou sect, Insight Sect can both the Pure Land Dhamma since ancient times. Also taught us to ”breathe Buddha” and stressed that as long as people have breath to read soon as the Buddha, over time, all the time, who live walking, not leave a Buddha, which side is really sophisticated.
