Yoga is an important part of Indian culture since ancient times, with strong influences on many religions including the Buddhism. Yoga sect is one of the six schools of Brahmanism. The ”Yoga Sūtra” is the essential classic of Yoga, it summarizes all the methods of yoga practice. Samādhi are some profound stages in the process of attaining the perfection in Yoga practice. There are many kind s of samādhi in the Yoga Sūtra, including samprajnāta, asamprajnāta, sabīja samādhi, nirbīja samādhi, and dharmamegha samādhi. This article tries to clarify these different stages of samādhi to deepen our understanding for the Yoga practical system.
