In order to encourage a dialogue between Christianity and Hinduism Raimon Panikkar published his famous book ”The Unknown Christ of Hinduism” in 1964 and reprinted a considerably revised edition in 1981. The aim of this article is to study the Christology in the two editions of the aforenamed book. In the first part I will analyze Panikkar's early theocertric Christology (1964 edition), which argues that Christ is a way of the Ultimate Reality's self-revelation in Christianity and is equal to Isvara of Hinduism. The second part I intend to research his later theandric Christology (1981 edition), which insists that Christ is the shared symbol of the theandric experience prevalent in all religions. In addition, basing on the Christian tradition, I try to point out some questions which demand Panikkar's further clarification and/or reconsideration.
