Mechanical Complication Related to a Dental Implant: Management of an Implant Screw Fracture-Case Reports

The fracture of an implant abutment screw can be a serious problem. Failing to remove the fractured screw fragment still occurs even after many different procedures that can be used for the removal of fractured screw fragments have been reported in the literature. This report presents one case where two fractured implant abutment screws were successfully removed as well as the other case where the same technique failed resulting in the removal of the implant fixture instead.
