摘要

作者在1970年代末到1980年代初，曾經負責位於台北的清末林本源園林（即林本源庭園，又稱板橋別墅，台灣俗稱林家花園，本文簡稱林園）的保存與修復的研究工作。林園被稱爲是台灣名氣最大的園林，卻也是破壞最嚴重的園林，1987年修復後才正式開放。作者在修復研究工作之後三十年，故園重訪，提出專論。首先，本文就林園的營造歷史做一簡要說明。其次，“遊園驚夢”，是本文的主要內容。板橋林園的進園空間體驗在於經由真實的空間與虛擬空間交織，表現象徵空間的意義，是強調的重點。然後，在這基礎之上，作者分析林園的造園作法。最後，以林園歷史意義的討論做爲本文的結論。林園，既是城市中的咫尺山林，又是區別市井，誇耀富貴，享樂獵奇的夢想之地。

The author took in charge the research for the restoration project of Lin Family Garden of in late Qin Dynasty at Banqiao, Taipei from the late 1870s to the beginning of 1980s. Lin Family Garden has been considered the most famous garden but the worst-case destruction in Taiwan. The garden re-opened in 1987. After thirty years of the restoration survey, the author revisits the garden and proposes a monograph. First, a brief history of Lin Family Garden is elaborated. Second, ”Wandering in the Garden, Waking from a Dream”, is the theme of the paper. The paper emphases the wandering spatial experience of Lin Family Garden consists in the interwoven real space and virtual space to express its symbolic space. Then, on the base of the description, the architectonic way of Lin Family Garden could be analyzed. Finally, the paper concludes with the interpretation of the historical meanings of Lin Family Garden It's a place of miniature landscape, a distinction from philistine, and a window to show off family wealth, an adventure to enjoy pleasure and a fantasy to hunt for novelty.
