摘要


文化大學之英語語文實習課,依據採用(New Wave 3)作為課本,該書使用溝通法和自然法為主要的教學理論依據。該書要求學生作演練、口語練習和語言分析之活動,接著是各課之重點,即角色之扮演。本文作者發現該課本有不少缺點和陷阱,對學生學習和認識英文,反有負面效應,值得注意。本文即針對這些缺陷加以探討,並試提出解決之道。

Teachers at Chinese at the Chinese Culture University use New Wave 3, a book that uses both the Communicative and Natural Approaches to language acquisition. After the students have gone through presentations, controlled oral practices, and language analysis, they proceed to the role plays that play a prominent part in each chapter. The author has found that there are various pitfalls and shortcomings in the book and in instructors presentation that can lead to a failure by the student to effectively acquire a true understanding of English I will first discuss the general disparagement of role playing in the current EFL literature; then I will discuss some of the problems found in New Wave 3 and proffer some solutions to these problems.
