The Effects of Weight Loss Program on the Overweight's Blood-Lipids

摘要

The purpose of this study is to research the effects of weight loss program on the overweight's blood-lipids. Subjects included 16 inhabitants (13 women; 3 men, body mass index≧24 kg/m^2, aged 22-60 years old) from the Jian-Tan community. All subjects underwent a 12-weeks intervention period. The programs included nutrition courses and aerobic exercises (twice a week, 60 minutes per session, at 55% to 89% of maximum heart rate), and 2 times/week of individual exercise. Before and after the program, the subjects were measured on the body weight, waist-to-hip ratio, total blood cholesterol, triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein and low-density lipoprotein values. Statistic analyzed with independent t-test. The result was that the body weight, waist circumference, hip circumference, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein and triglycerides, and other items each declined significantly (p<.05), except waist-to-hip ratio and high-density lipoprotein (p>.05). The result indicated the combination of nutrition courses and aerobic exercises not only help the weight lose, but also improve blood-lipids (except high-density lipoprotein), and partly reduce the risk factor of adult chronic diseases.
