論述醫學圖書館員之角色

醫學圖書館員在臨床醫學教育中是不可或缺的角色。在美國醫學圖書館實施「臨床醫學圖書館員」CML(Clinical Medical Librarian)計畫，實際參與臨床教學活動，提供立即性的醫學文獻與資訊，改善醫療從業人員對病人的照護；並且協助醫學院學生完成臨床訓練。在台灣醫學圖書館員ML(Medical Librarians)的角色，侷限於圖書館內或網頁上，提供各項服務，不參與或支援臨床教學活動。不論CML或ML,他們都是醫學資訊的傳播者、指導者和教育者的角色。本文先簡介美國醫學圖書館實施CML計畫與成效，再陳述國內醫學圖書館員的角色。

The role of the medical librarian in contemporary clinical medicine is indispensable. In the Clinical Medical Librarians (CML) Program in America. medical librarians are included as an essential member of the clinical teaching team. They not only help medical students complete their training course by offering them instant relevant information and literature, but also help to improve the capacity of health care providers to provide quality of care. In Taiwan. on the other hand, medical librarians tend to work in-house and provide a reactive service. The role of medical librarians seems to vary from country to country. They work as a communicator. director, and educator to provide information that is related health care. The purpose of this article is to describe the various roles and the effectiveness of medical librarians as provided for by the CIVIL Program and furthermore, to use these to obtain insight into the role of medical librarians in Taiwan.
