營造無菸校園:一個健康促進學校計畫

Building a Tobacco Free Campus: A School-based Health Promotion Program

摘要


本研究在雅動一個以營造無菸校園為目的之健康促進學校計畫。為評價介入效果,採用類實驗研究設計,立意選取同一行政區內的一所中學為實驗學校,另一所中學為對照學校。實驗學校的學生代表受邀參加一系列的增能活動後,自發性地組成以促進學校健康為順景之學生社團。社員們完成自我成長課程後,於校園內推出各種以「拒菸」為訴求的活動。實驗學校和對照學校的國一至國三各有一半的班級被隨機抽出,在這些被抽中的班級中,同時完成介入前(前測)和介入後(後測)之問卷調查的學生共有597人。在介入活動結束後,實驗學校的學生在菸害知識、拒菸態度、覺知不吸菸對健康的重要、菸害防制資訊與服務的可近性等,都顯著優於對照學校的學生。因此,建議可應用社區營造策略於健康促進學校計畫中。

The purpose of this study was to build a tobacco free campus by implementing a health promoting school program. A quasi-experimental study design was used to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention. An experimental school and a comparison school within the same administrative district were purposively selected. After student representatives from the experimental school had been invited to participate in a series of empowerment activities, a student club was voluntarily organized with the vision of promoting school health. After completing various courses in self-development, the student club conducted many activities focusing on anti-smoking at the campus. For evaluation, half of the classes from the 7th to 9th grades from both schools were randomly chosen. A total of 597 students completed pre-test and post test questionaires. At the end of the program, the students at the experimental school demonstrated significant and positive changes in their knowledge about the risks of smoking, their attitude towards smoking, awareness of the importance of non-smoking and of health, and accessibility to anti-smoking information and services. It is thus suggested that a health promoting school program may successfully adopt this strategy to help community building at the middle school level.
