Good Practice Against Conflict of Interest and Bias in Biomedical Research

摘要

Teaching students how to do research has been neglected in most universities except at the graduate school level. Medical schools in Taiwan hardly offer courses in research methodology or research ethics. Medical students however are required to engage in research during their school years and after their graduation. Research is indispensable for medical technology to move forward. The topic of conflict of interest has been a hot topic in Taiwan recently. In scientific research, especially in biomedical banking, this issue has also been raised. This paper will present a view of how to avoid bias and conflict of interest in biomedical research and also to suggest a check point method to help avoid bias and conflict of interest in medical research.
