Grey relational analysis requires data to satisfy non-dimension, scaling and polarization. If the data of a group of sequences do not satisfy these properties, data pre-processing is required for the grey relational analysis. Generally, three data pre-processing methods are available, namely, larger-the-better, smaller-the- better and nominal-the-better. One of these methods should be chosen for con-sidering the application. This study demonstrates that the larger-the-better and smaller-the-better cases can be in-cluded in the nominal-the-better case. Thus, it is easier to implement in dealing data pre-processing before performing grey relational analysis.
