The Application of Grey Relational Analysis (GRA) to Prioritizing the Emotional Intelligence (EI) Training Needs

並列摘要

Emotional intelligence (EI) is being recognized as a significant factor in academic achievement and career success, and numerous studies show that EI can be developed through proper trainings. Empirical research on organizational culture has also produced evidence suggesting that different climates and espoused values exist between tourism and information technology (IT)-both of them play considerable roles in enhancing Taiwan’s international exposure. The objective of the study is to prioritize EI training needs through grey relational analysis for undergraduate students majoring tourism and IT departments. EI training programs are developed with a focus on enhancing weak areas of emotional competence for tourism and IT students, respectively. It is hoped that the results can provide students an advantage in entering and staying in their chosen industry, leading to achievement in both their career and personal lives.
