Applying Grey Relational Analysis and Path Analysis Jointly to Analyzing the Impacts of Trade and Financial Openness on Income Inequality in Taiwan

並列摘要

Rising income inequality across most countries over the past decades poses one of the greatest challenges to economic policymakers in developed and as well as developing countries. Our main objective is to study the relationships among openness in trade, financial openness and income inequality in Taiwan. The path analysis of regression approach, which is composed of a series of relevant regressions, is applied to analyze the above mentioned relationships. We measure financial liberalization and income inequality as construct, which consist of more than one indicator. Grey relational analysis is used to obtain the integrated indexes of these latent variables. The other purpose of this study is to find a way to apply GRA and path analysis jointly.
