並列摘要

The aim of this study was to investigate the behavior of patients' fall prevention toward fall frequency of elders. This research revealed the key factors of patients' fall prevention by integrate survey method with GM(1,N) and grey relational analysis. The questionnaire of survey consisted of fifteen items of behavior of patients' fall prevention and one item of fall frequency. The survey was performed by purposive sampling to distribute the questionnaire to inpatients over 65 years of age in a regional hospital. Sixty-eight valid copies of questionnaire were collected. GM(1,N) analysis was used to reveal the weight of each factor of patients' fall prevention toward fall frequency of elders. Grey relational analysis was employed to determine the relationship between patient behavior and fall frequency. As the results showed, the fall of elderly people was mainly caused by not always keeping call button within reach, pulling up bedside rails while lie down on the bed, and seeking help by call button if fall in toilet. In addition, the elderly population will not fall if they always fix wheels before use wheelchair, inform nursing staff if wet floor found, and accompanied by others while get out of bed. Besides, the elders of highest fall frequency of four times did not obey the guideline of fall prevention.
