Multi-Objective Optimization of Electrochemical Discharge Machining Using Taguchi Based Grey Relational Analysis Coupled With Principal Component Analysis

in this paper, in order to investigate the effects of the electrochemical discharge machining parameters, a series of experiments using Taguchi method were designed. The multiple objectives response variances were normalized using grey relational analysis. And the principal component analysis was used to determine the various weights of values corresponding to the response variances so that the relative importance can be obtained objective description. The calculating results revel that the grey relational analysis coupled with principal component analysis can efficiently obtain the optimized combination of electrochemical discharge machining parameters. So, the proposed method in this investigation is a useful approach to improve the machining performance of electrochemical discharge machining.
