Optimization of Conductive Fabric Using the Taguchi Method and Grey Relational Analysis: An Application in Manufacturing Process Design

摘要

Conductive fabric has been used extensively in many applications in recent years. Metallic material was added during the construction of the fabric to improve the electrical characteristics of the fabric. Precise control of the electrical characteristics of conductive fabrics is important for many specific applications. Determining the conditions that result in the proper electrical characteristics is a critical issue for fabric producers. The goal of this study is to compare the electrical characteristics of conductive fabrics produced using different weaving conditions and obtain the optimal manufacturing conditions. The Taguchi approach was performed to analyze and acquire the performance of the conductive fabrics. Further, to satisfy the multiple quality requirements of the conductive fabrics, grey relational analysis was applied to determine the optimal weaving conditions. As the result, the weaving conditions can be modulated according to request performance and the efficient production has been achieved.
