Object-Oriented Design Methodology and Implementation of an Optimizing Adaptive Quality Controller for Semiconductor Manufacturing Processes

摘要


這個研究是應用物件導向設計(Object-OrientedDesign,OOD)的理念來開發半導體製程最佳化品質控制即時系統。在其他研究中心〔如MIT及TI)的Run-to-Run(R2R)控制只考慮到線性模組(LinearModel),而不能掌握到複雜的程序異動(ProcessDynamics)狀況,這是難以滿足系統的需求,所以這個研究是將程序異動及二次元(QuadraticTerms)介紹到系統方程式(SystemEquation)中,並且使用物件導向設計的方法來整合工程程序管制(Engineering Process Control, EPC)及統計程序管制(Statistical Process Control, SPC)的技術,然後提供線上預估(Estimation)、最佳化(Optimization)、及控制(Control)等方法來增進品質管制。因為物件導向設計提供一個簡單的方法將真實世界的問題反映到軟體工程中,所以這個研究應用它來分析及設計製程最佳化品質控制系統(Optimizing Adaptive Quality Controller, OAQC)。物件導向設計包含了所有軟體設計方法所急切尋找的三個特點:抽象化(Abstraction)、模組化(Modularity)、及資料隱藏(Information hiding)。抽象化容許系統分析師使用在真實世界中所熟悉的用語,模組化將整個系統分成一些子系統,而資料隱藏保證每個模組都含有自己獨立的資料區和功能區。OAQC是使用NeXTSTEP作業系統上的物件導向語言來設計及執行,這個研究並且使用一個4x2化學機械研磨(Chemical Mechanical Planarization, CMP)的程序來測試這套軟體。

The software design and implementation of the Optimizing Adaptive Quality Controller (OAQC), a multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) run-to-run controller for semiconductor manufacturing processes, is described. An Object-Oriented Design (OOD) methodology is introduced for the software design of run-to-run controllers. The methodology is applied for the software design of the OAQC. The use of the resulting controller implementation is illustrated by means of a 4 x 2 Chemical-Mechanical Planarization (CMP) process.
