台灣傳統花布運用於現代設計現象探討

集體的記憶是形成共識的基礎，經過時間的沉澱後，昔日常民生活中的必需品重新獲得注目，設計界相中老東西所具備的親切感與情感淵源，將之轉化成代表本土在地特色的表徵，台灣傳統花布即是近年來在台灣常被取用的素材之一，布的特性漸被花布的紋樣所取代，應用的範圍也不再侷限布的可能，在本土意識高漲與文化創意產業起飛的時空推動下，台灣花布從阿嬤的被櫥被挖出來，由私人空間走向公眾領域，再經轉化成設計元素，花布儼然成爲台灣特色的代表性圖騰，擺脫原本俗麗的印象，附加在許多視覺設計或商品設計上，昇華而成爲時尚風格的代表。「復古」可能是經典的源頭，亦可能如曇花一現般短暫的流行，在台灣傳統花布當紅的現在，正值得去探索這現象背後的脈絡，並進而思索如何延續文化符碼的未來生命。

In today's very popular traditional cotton prints in Taiwan, it deserves us to study the context of this phenomenon and then think deeply about how to continue the prospective life of cultural symbol.
