現代視覺設計的演變奠基於過去的歷史與文化,歷史與文化為民族的根源與資產,在今日的現代視覺設計中不難發現,有許多設計師以融合古今的手法,喚醒了舊文化的新生命,其中將中國傳統版印應用於現代視覺設計即是成功的案例。本研究以各個面向切入探討中國傳統版印運用於現代視覺設計之現象,分析設計作品中出現以傳統版印為設計符碼之構成形式,解讀其設計思維與文化意涵,並藉藝術社會學等理論,將社會背景及時代潮流之影響列為探討項目,期盼歸納出現代視覺設計師應用中國傳統版印為設計元素之表現思維與設計意圖。 本研究首先採用文獻分析法,蒐集整理中國傳統版印相關文獻資料,其次,將現代視覺設計運用中國傳統版印為設計元素之運作現象樣本做分門別類之陳述,並結合文獻資料深入剖析現象運作思維與設計意圖,企圖歸納釐清現代視覺設計師應用中國傳統版印特質之設計運作模式,接著列舉中國傳統版印圖像與現代視覺設計應用圖像進行轉換前後之比對分析,從中發現現代視覺設計運用傳統版印特質的成功案例,所展現之新視覺意象與諸多價值,例如:文化價值、創新價值、社會價值、商業價值、文創價值等,期能為現代視覺設計建構「傳統」與「現代」結合之設計思維,援為未來設計發展之相關研究與參考。
The evolution of modern Visual design is based on history and culture of the past. History and culture, the roots as well the assets of the nation, are not difficult to find in today’s modern Visual design. There are indeed many designers trying to integrate in ancient and modern thinking to relive ancient culture. One of the successful examples is the application of Chinese traditional printing in modern Visual design. The research further probes into this phenomenon occurred in modern Visual design from all aspects, analyzing the structure formed by the Chinese Traditional Printing design codes in the works, interpreting its design thinking and cultural meaning, and listing the influence of social background and trend of the times as the subjects for discussion in terms of the Art of Sociology and other theories, thus to expect for a generalization of performance thinking and design intent of modern Visual designers in applying Chinese traditional printing as design elements. This thesis initially adopted literature analysis to collect and organize documents related to Chinese traditional printing. Second, to categorize the phenomenon of modern design applied to Chinese traditional printing arts and in-depth analyze the phenomenon of thinking operations and design intent in light of the data. With the attempt to summarize and clarify the operation mode of the application characteristics of Chinese traditional printing by modern Visual designers, comparative analysis is later enumerated after the images conversion between the Chinese tradition printing arts and the modern ones. Finally, the successful records of taking modern Visual design into traditional printing are discovered, with cultural, innovative, social, commercial, cultural creative values, and other new visual imagery and a number of values it has made, hopefully to conduct a design thinking combining “tradition” and “modern” as reference for the relevant research and design development in the future.
