A 30-year-old female was found to have a painful and palpable hard mass on her left posterior thoracic wall. Computed tomography of the thoracic spine revealed a solid mass with a nodular appearance and poor enhancement at the left side of the eighth vertebral body. She underwent an operation through a posterior-lateral approach for the extraplural removal of the tumor. This tumor was totally removed and the pathology report confirmed it as chondromyxoid fibroma. No surgical complications developed and the patient's pain appeared to be relieved. In general, vertebral involvement is very rare; only nine cases have been reported in the literature. The prognosis of chondromyxoid fibroma in this particular patient is satisfactory.
