Gingival Recession Related to Orthodontic Treatment-Review Article

Gingival recession may lead to sensitivity, root caries and poor esthetics. It is common in orthodontic practice and may be the result of teeth malposition, crowding and crossbite. The timing of periodontal therapy depends on the factors leading to gingival recession. The review article describes the etiology, treatment planning, timing of periodontal treatment, and considerations of mucogingival problems for orthodontic treatment of the gingival recession. The information will help the orthodontists in treating the gingival recession of orthodontic patients
