摘要

影響齒顎矯正治療結果的因素很多，對於治療動機的了解是其中一個重要因素，可做為診斷及治療計畫之重要參考，過去有關這方面的研究並不很多，大都採取問卷方式進行，因為內容設計、研究方法與取樣的差異，其結果亦有所不同，本文報告乃蒐集近二十年之相關文獻，依動機定義，影響齒顎矯正動機因素，治療動機與牙齒不正咬合及顏面型態美觀相關性，父母親在病人治療動機所扮演的角色，治療動機與病患基本背景、社經背景及心理因素相關性的探討，治療動機與接受治療動力相關性，未來研究的方向等七大方向，進行回顧與分析。結果顯示，影響齒顎矯正治療動機之因素眾多，大都會影響其治療結果，對診斷及治療計劃有密切關係與助益，未來應加強系統性研究方式，與口腔推廣政策結合，針對不同地區及種族間是否對影響矯正病患治療動機之研究，進行比較與分析研究，並作為衛生機構擬定口腔健康發展、人力規劃等重要參考依據，及臨床齒顎矯正醫師之臨床指引！

Factors that affect the results of orthodontic treatment are various, and the understanding of motivation for orthodontic treatment is one of the most important because of its reference value in clinical diagnosis and treatment planning. In the past, there was just a few researches relating to this subject and most of them were conducted by questionnaire. Because of the differences methods of experimental design, the results varied. This review paper collect related articles in recent twenty years and analyze them in seven ways, including the definition of motivation, factors affecting orthodontic motivation, the relationship between orthodontic motivation and malocclusion and facial esthetics, the role of parents in orthodontic motivation, the relationship between orthodontic treatment and patient's basic background ,socioeconomic background and psychogenic factors, the relationship between orthodontic motivation and motive power of receiving orthodontic treatment, and the way of future research. The results reveal that factors affecting orthodontic treatment are numerous, and most of them affect treatment results, being helpful to clinical diagnosis and treatment planning; therefore, in the future we should reinforce systemic research and combine it with oral strategies to conduct researches in different regions and races. The comparison and analysis of the researches can be used in reference of oral health development, human resources distribution, and guidance for clinical orthodontists.
