跨部門競合與知識管理系統對部門效能之影響

The Influences of Cross-Functional Coopetition on Department Outcomes Mediated by Knowledge Management Systems

摘要


跨部門競合是否影響部門效能逐漸受到資訊系統領域的重視與討論。然而,瞭解跨部門競合如何影響部門效能,學界普遍存在著不同的看法。因此,研究需要更進一步探討跨部門競合可以經由哪些中介變數來影響部門效能。目前有些研究認為跨部門競合會對企業績效產生直接顯著的影響,有些研究則否定這樣的結果。因此,為了釐清上述不一致的現象,本研究將針對資訊科技支援知識管理(KMIT)影響績效進行討論。目前企業廣泛使用知識管理系統做為實現知識管理的解決方案以提升效能,而本研究目的在於提出知識管理系統能力(knowledge management systems capability, KMSC)的概念,做為研究架構的依據。透過問卷調查法,對台灣高科技產業中250家公司進行實證研究來支持並驗證研究假設,並以結構方程模式進行資料分析,意圖觀察跨部門競合是否能藉由改善部門員工效能、改善產品效能及改善部門創新來提升部門的效能表現。結果顯示知識管理系統確實在跨部門競合對部門效能的影響上有相當重要的調節作用,此結果也將作為管理者對於使用知識管理系統和部門間競合關係另一個重要參考。

The relationship between cross-functional coopetition (CFC) and department-level performance has been the subject of some discussion in information systems literature. While some studies have found a significant link between CFC and departmental performance, others have failed to do so. However, the elusive link between CFC and departmental performance calls for further research into intermediate organizational variables through which CFC may influence departmental performance. This study proposes that knowledge management systems capability (KMSC) is a critical organizational capability through which CFC influences departmental performance. Data from 250 High tech firms in Taiwan provide empirical support for this study. The CFC has enhanced the departmental performance from employee improvement, product improvement, and department innovation. CFC also has significant indirect effects on departmental performance through the mediation of KMSC.
