Developing and Testing a Model of a Community Health Building: A Health Promotion Team in Tao-Yuan Area

Community health building is not only a concept but also can be a methodology and strategy to improve health promotion programs in a community. The purpose of the article is to share an experience of a health promotion program using the developed model of community health building in Tao-Yuan area, Taiwan. The key members of health promotion team include trained healthcare providers and specialists. This article will describe the theory and framework of community health building, strategies, procedures, as well as outcomes. Further recommendation of the program is also addressed. The information in this article may serve other health professionals as reference to develop and improve health programs in communities.
