Previous studies in Taiwan of Yang Mu have not yet investigated his work, "The Selection of Modern Chinese Prose" (《現代中國散文選》), in the view of literary criticism. Therefore, this study aims to fill the gap in the studies of Taiwan's important prose selection by Stylistic Theory. The analysis of relative perspectives and notions shows the unique significance of Yang Mu and his work "The Selection of Modern Chinese Prose" in structure and course in Longitude-Latitude Relationship. The study first adopted two dimensions, including the criticism in origins of articles (體源批評) and Discrimination of article styles (辨家數), to examine the categories and sources of "The Selection of Modern Chinese Prose." Next, the study analyzed the features and effects of "Model Paradigm" (典範模習). Finally, we disentangled the unique meaning of this selection in the Longitude-Latitude Relationship. The finding indicates that Yang's work is one of the co-constructors of paradigms in modern prose in Taiwan.
