In 2019, the Taiwan Ministry of Education implemented the new Curriculum Guidelines for the 12 Year Basic Education, with the goal of providing competency-based education to students. Teachers in the context of competency-based education are required to understand the conceptual basis and connotation of competency-based education teaching model. This article provided an example of how talented and gifted program teachers in an elementary school applied rubrics to meet the curriculum design of competency-based education. Self-reflection, feedback from the teachers, and changes encountered by the talented and gifted program teachers while implementing a competency-based curriculum have been concluded as a reference cases for teachers.
