數種本土藥用植物之抗菌與抗發炎活性分析
Studies on the Antibiotic Activity and Bio-Activity of Anti-Inflammation of Several Endemic Medicinal Plants
摘要
台灣位居熱帶與亞熱帶地區植物資源豐富，極適合開發本土之植物資源。本研究篩選菊科、樟科及芸香科共三十四種本土植物之50%甲醇萃取物以連續稀釋微效價法檢測其抗金黃色葡萄球菌之活性，並以抑制脂多糖誘發RAW264.7巨噬細胞產生一氧化氮之模式探討其抗發炎活性，結果顯示七種植物萃取物具抑菌活性，以華西肉桂與降真香具最佳抑菌效果（最小抑菌濃度minimum inhibitory concentration, MIC =62.5g/ml），其次為月桂（MIC=250 g/ml），而白面風、肺炎草、芳香萬壽菊及高山艾則僅具微弱之抑菌效果（MIC=1000 g/ml）。而抗發炎活性顯示杭菊、菊芋、艾葉、款冬、角菜、香葉樹、月桂、降真香等八種植物萃取物具抗發炎活性，但月桂具顯著細胞毒性。此外，茵陳、柳枝、大頭艾納香、芳香萬壽菊、高山艾及香葉樹等六種植物萃取物具顯著自由基清除活性。本研究所篩選具活性之植物萃取物值得加以開發利用。

Taiwan is in tropical and subtropical zone and there are rich in plant natural resources. In this study, we screened the antibiotic and anti-inflammatory effects of the thirty-four kinds of endemic plants in Taiwan. The 50% methanol extracts of thirty-four tested plants were measured by microtiter serial dilution method to evaluate the antibacterial activity against Staphyloccocus aureus. The anti-inflammatory activity of plant extracts was performed by the inhibition of lipopolysaccharide-induced NO production in RAW 264.7 macrophages. Seven species of plants, Cinnamomum cassia, Acronychia laurifolia, Aretemisia oligoarpa, Laurus nobilis, Microglossa phyrifolia, Murdannia Malabaricum, and Tagetes lemmonii showed anti-bacterial activity for Staphyloccocus aureus. The minimum inhibition concentration (MIC) were 62.5, 62.5, 250, 1000, 1000, 1000, and 1000 g/ml, respectively. On the other hand, Chrysanthemum morifolium, Helianthus tubrtsous, Artemisia Princeps var. orientails, Petasites formosanus, Artemisia lactiflora, Laurus nobilis and Acronychia laurifolia showed strong anti-inflammatory potency. However, L. nobilis showed potent cytotoxicity for RAW 264.7 macrophage cells. Six plant extracts have strong DPPH free radical scavenging activities. In according to the above results, the new potential antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and free radical scavenging plants can be further developed as novel nutraceutical sources from endemic plants in Taiwan.
