This paper aims to point out the novel Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage (2013) by Haruki Murakami has been written in the manner of symbolic expression which is analogous to the concept of 'archetype' advocated by C.G.Jung and his followers such as Hayao Kawai. It is the accumulation of the conscious and the unconscious that piled up behind its apparent method of realism. And this novel describes how the protagonist 'Tsukuru Tazaki' to have achieved 'the individuation' after leaving 'the perfect community' as his own 'homeland'.
