Skin is the natural barrier of the human body. Once burned, it might become infected on be scarred problem when no good wound care or rehabilitation is provided. This case study described the nursing care of a 24-year-old male patient who was diagnosed with burn injury during hospitalization. Risk of infection, impaired physical mobility, pain related to dressing change, altered nutrition inadequate for body requirements and pain-related fear experience are five major health problems of the 24-year-old patient. The nurse showed caring in the sence of warmth, personal relationship showed a great deal of care etc. The nurse planned holistic nursing care interventions including infection prevention, positioning, range of motion, reducing pain while changing dressing, improving nutritional intake, and prevention of hypertrophic scarring. The patient regain the best physical function and satisfactery appearance within three weeks. By sharing her experience, this case study reminds nurse about concepts of correct wound care. The only way to help patient's wound healing and reduce scarring is actual hand-on nursing interventions.
