Investigations of coliforms and Salmonella sp. in the vegetables, soil and water samples from four organic farms were conducted. Thirteen vegetable samples were analyzed, and 12 samples were contaminated with coliforms (92.3%), and 7 samples were contaminated with E. coli (53.8%). Seven farmland soil samples out of nine were contaminated with fecal coliforms (77.7%). Six irrigating water samples were analyzed, and 3 samples were contaminated with coliforms (50%), and three samples were contaminated with fecal coliforms (50%). No Salmonella sp. were detected in all 28 samples collected.
