This article investigates the structure of Chinese Rime. To begin with, we explore the possible rime structure on the basis of Chinese syllable cannon. Then we begin to examine the distribution of single vowels, which is followed by the nature of diphthongs and triphthongs. Finally, the constraints underlying the formation of vowel plus the ending are discussed. The major finding is that all the 35 rimes in Chinese are rule-governed, directly reflecting the universal nature of phonology.
