本研究採用《新訂賴氏人格測驗》與自編之「學習動機、學習適應與生涯抉擇問卷」為研究工具,對臺灣地區7所高中職音樂班三個年級共474位主修西樂學生施測與調查,回收有效答案卷438份。結果發現人格特質之內外向性格方面,主修西樂學生領導性、思考性、安逸性與社會性皆偏外向,且男生比女生更社會外向。男生於活動性偏外向,女生與常模分布沒有顯著差異。情緒穩定方面,學生變異性與常模未有顯著差異,神經質比常模更集中於中等;男生自卑感偏弱,女生與常模未有顯著差異。心理健康方面,學生焦慮性偏強;憂鬱性呈兩極化傾向。男生緊張程度呈偏弱趨勢;女生方面則偏兩極化。社會適應方面,學生於合作性與客觀性呈偏良好傾向,且女生比男生於客觀性更良好;低年級較高年級更良好。男生之攻擊性於三個年級之變化大;三個年級之女生與常模未有顯著差異。男生學習動機比女生強,學習適應比女生好;從事與音樂相關工作之意願愈高年級愈低。臺灣高中職音樂班主修西樂學生之學習動機與學習適應及希望從事領域相關工作意願有正相關,其愈高分者,傾向於人格特質性格較偏外向(但思考性較偏內向),情緒較偏向穩定,心理健康較偏向良好,社會適應程度較偏向良好。
This study intended to explore personality traits of Western music majors at senior high schools in Taiwan, and explore their learning motivations, learning adjustment, and career decisions. Two data-collection instruments were employed. First, the Lai's Personality Inventory was employed to investigate the personality traits of the students. Second, a selfdesigned questionnaire which contained Likert-type scales and open-ended questions was employed to investigate the students' learning motivations, learning adjustment, and career decisions. A total of 474 students from 7 schools participated in the study, and 438 valid answer sheets were collected. The Lai's Personality Inventory contained 14 personality scales. In the aspect of extraversion or introversion, Western music majors tended to be introverted in thinking scale, but extraverted in ascendancy, rhathymia, and social extraversion. Male students were even more socially extraverted than female students. Male student were extraverted in general activity but female students were not significantly different from the norm. In the aspect of emotional steadiness, Western music majors were not significantly different from the norm in cyclic tendency, and tended to cluster in the middle degree in nervousness. Male students tended to be weak in inferiority feeling, but female were not significantly different from the norm. In the aspect of psychological health, Western music majors tended to be strong in anxiety. Their distribution in depression scale exhibited polarization. Male students tended to be weak but female students tended to be strong in strain. In the aspect of social adjustment, Western music majors tended to be well in cooperativeness and objectiveness. Female students were even more objective than male students. Students at a lower grade also exhibited higher objectiveness than students at a higher grade. Male student at different grades exhibited different tendency in aggressive scale, but female students at all the three grades were not significantly different from the norm. Male students' learning motivations were stronger than female students' learning motivations. Male students also indicated higher learning adjustment than female students. Western music majors at a higher grade showed lower willingness toward working in their own fields than Western music majors at a lower grade. Finally, there was a tendency that music majors who indicated better learning adjustment also had higher learning motivations, stronger desires to work in their own field in the future, more extraverted in general activity, more introverted in thinking extraversion, weaker in cyclic tendency, weaker in inferiority feelings, weaker in anxiety, better in objectiveness, better in cooperativeness, and weaker in aggressiveness.
