台灣醫務管理期刊研究論文分析

Content Analysis of Two Major Healthcare Management Journals in Taiwan

摘要


目的:醫管期刊的內容與取向往往反映醫務管理發展與趨勢,並廣泛提供醫務管理專業人員醫務管理新知與資訊。本研究主要目的乃藉由內容分析法,探究及比較台灣兩本主要醫務管理類專業期刊所刊載之文章,在特質上有無不同及差異。 方法:針對台灣2000年至2008年「醫院雜誌」與「醫務管理期刊」兩本期刊所刊登的579篇論文,進行內容分析與比較。包含論文之研究主題、文章性質、抽樣方法、信效度及統計方法等,除以描述性統計就兩本期刊內容加以描述外,也利用卡方檢定瞭解兩本期刊所刊載之研究論文特質差異。 結果:兩本醫務管理相關之期刊的比較結果發現,在研究領域部分,醫院雜誌所刊載之論文以「品質管理」領域爲主,而醫務管理期刊則是以「健康保險與醫療市場」之領域較多;在研究方法部分,醫院雜誌與醫務管理期刊皆以問卷調查爲多;在分析資料使用統計方法深度部分,醫院雜誌以未採統計方法或描述性統計爲多,而醫務管理期刊則是採用較多深入的統計方法。 結論:醫院雜誌與醫務管理期刊所刊載的研究論文主題趨勢來看,包含醫療服務市場、健保相關制度及品質管理等議題,似乎是2000年後台灣醫務管理研究的主要風潮,且原著之論文佔期刊論文比率有提昇之趨勢。兩本期刊研究方向比較發現,醫院雜誌較偏向於醫管實務領域,而醫務管理期刊則有較多理論與學術性的文章。兩本期刊相關在論文品質上,研究抽樣方法及研究工具良好信效度之建構,仍有強化空間。

Objective: Healthcare management journals provide not only new knowledge for healthcare professionals but also reflect the development of healthcare management practices. This study used content analysis to review and compare the articles published by two major healthcare management journals, the Journal of Healthcare Management (JHM) and Hospital, in Taiwan. Methods: A total of 579 articles published between 2000 and 2008 in Hospital and JHM were reviewed. The content analyses covered research topic, article category, sampling method, reliability and validity, and statistical methodology. Descriptive statistics and chi-square tests were employed to compare the differences in the articles from the two target journals. Results: Overall, the most published categories of articles in Hospital and JHM were ”quality management” and ”health insurance and health care market”, respectively. Among the research methods, survey research was the most commonly utilized method in both journals. The use of statistical analysis such as regression or ANOVA was common in JHM. In contrast, many published articles did not use any statistical analysis or used only descriptive statistics in Hospital. Conclusion: Since 2000, the focal issues in healthcare management in Taiwan have been the healthcare services market, health insurance, and quality management as determined by articles published in Hospital and JHM. Hospital is a practice oriented journal and JHM is a theoretical and academically oriented journal. Future improvement in the quality of articles published by Hospital and JHM should focus on sampling methods and the reliability and validity of research measurements.
