The Prevalence of Dyslipidemia in Nursing Personnel and Related Risk Factors

護理人員脂質異常盛行率及相關危險因子探討

Objectives: Nurses are typically at high risk of developing dyslipidemia owing to their irregular work schedules. In the present study, a cross-sectional research design was employed to examine the prevalence of dyslipidemia in nurses and the correlation between dyslipidemia and the demographic characteristics, lifestyle and work patterns of nurses. Methods: A total of 1,200 questionnaires were distributed, and 1,129 valid questionnaires were returned. The study tools included a physical examination with physiological indicators and a self-administered questionnaire. Results: The prevalence of dyslipidemia was 27.8% in this study. Odds ratio analysis of dyslipidemia showed that the participants with a family history of dyslipidemia were 1.48 times more likely to develop dyslipidemia than those without, and that nursing personnel with a current history of chronic disease were 2.01 times more likely to develop the disease as compared with those without. Concerning diet, 78.9% of the participants regularly consumed sugared beverages. In the nursing personnel who consumed 0 ~ 1 bowl of whole grains and rhizomes daily, the odds ratio of developing dyslipidemia was 0.68 times that of the nursing personnel who consumed 1.5 ~ 4 bowls. Conclusion: A family history of dyslipidemia, a current history of chronic disease, and diet are related to the occurrence of dyslipidemia. Thus, hospitals should implement health management policies for nurses, and monitor their medical conditions. This study recommends establishing a healthy diet plan and a suitable working environment in order to improve the diet of nurses.

背景:護理人員因輪班工作型態,是罹患脂質異常的高危險群。本研究採橫斷性研究,檢測護理人員健檢資料庫數據及生活、工作型態問卷資料,調查護理人員罹患脂質異常盛行率及探討基本特性、生活、工作型態與脂質異常之相關性。方法:本研究對象為臺灣某醫學中心之護理人員,共發出1,200 份問卷,回收1,129份有效問卷。研究工具包括:護理人員體檢生理指標及自填式問卷。結果:護理人員脂質異常盛行率為27.8%。罹患脂質異常的勝算比分析發現有家族病史的人員較無家族病史的人員高1.48 倍、目前有慢性病病史的人員較無慢性病的人員高2.01 倍;飲食型態中護理人員飲用含糖飲料比例高達78.9%;護理人員攝取全榖根莖類0 ~ 1 碗/天產生脂質異常的勝算比,為食用1.5 ~ 4 碗/天的0.68 倍。結論:護理人員的家族及目前慢性病史、飲食行為與脂質異常的發生相關,建議醫院落實護理人員健康管理政策,追蹤員工體檢狀況;建議制定健康飲食方案與環境,改善護理人員飲食習慣。
