Clinically, the incidence of calcium stones is pretty high with a frequent recurrence-while the frequency of hypercalciuria and hyperuricosuria occurring in patients with calcium stones was around 40-50% and 20%, respectively. However, the incidence of hyperuricosuria 86.7% in male and 77.3% in female patients with calcium stones as detected in this study was higher than that reported previously. Concomitant existence of hypercalciuria and hyperuricosuria was found in 24.4% of male patients, and 29.5% of female patients. The relationship between hyperuricosuria and calcium stone formation warrants further studies of large scales.
