The present study undertook an analysis of citizen attendance and required facilities of art exhibitions and performances in Kaohsiung and Pingtung area, Taiwan. The survey showed that nearly 50% of the respondents did not attend any art exhibitions or performing arts events this last year. It also showed that there was only 10% of the people surveyed participated in art classes. The willingness to attend visual art exhibitions was greater than performing arts events. It further showed that the respondents had less interest in art classes. Finally, The correlation between respondents' characteristics, attendance and participation was significant.
