The main purpose of this study is to explore how family resources affect children's learning. Theories of cultural capital, social capital and financial capital are discussed, in order to elucidate the notion of family resources, and the significance and implications of family resources for education. Some specific recommendations are made in the conclusion, which are intended to serve as a reference for parents from families of different socio-economic status when determining the allocation of their family's resources.
