赤星瓢蟲(Lemnia saucia (Mulsant))(鞘翅目:瓢蟲科)捕食竹節扁蚜(Astegopteryx bambucifoliae (Takahashi))(半翅目:蚜蟲科)之功能反應與對食餌齡期偏好性

摘要


捕食功能反應研究在瞭解捕食性動物與獵物間的交互作用關係,亦可應用於評估捕食性昆蟲取食農業害蟲,是否能成為生物防治的有效天敵。赤星瓢蟲(Lemnia saucia(Mulsant))三、四齡幼蟲對竹葉扁蚜(Astegopteryx bambucifoliae(Takahashi))二齡若蟲之日平均捕食量,分別為62.2和68.9隻,而成蟲最多可達179.4隻。雌、雄赤星瓢蟲皆屬於第Ⅱ型捕食功能反應,比較雌、雄成蟲的捕食量、攻擊係數(attack rate,a)均以雌成蟲較高,而捕捉時間(handing time,T_h)則以雄成蟲花費時間較長。捕食偏好性比較,赤星瓢蟲幼蟲、成蟲均偏好捕食竹葉扁蚜成蟲,而雌成蟲對竹葉扁蚜成蟲之偏好性亦高於雄成蟲。由於竹類作物被竹葉扁蚜危害嚴重,赤星瓢蟲具開發作為其生物防治天敵的潛力。

Studying predatory functional responses can enable understanding the interactions between predators and preys and evaluating whether a predator can become an effective natural enemy for biological control. The present study examined predatory ladybird, Lemnia saucia (Mulsant) (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae), and its prey bamboo leaf aphid, Astegopteryx bambucifoliae (Takahashi) (Hemiptera: Aphidaidae), in Taiwan. The numbers of daily prey consumption activities in the third and fourth instar larval stages were 62.2 and 68.9, respectively; the number of consumption activities among adults was up to 179.4. Female and male L. saucia adults exhibited type Ⅱ functional response. The predation number and attack rate (a) of female adults were higher than those of their male counterparts. However, the handing time (T_h) of male adults was longer. The stage preference test showed that at all stages, L. saucia preferred adult A. bambucifoliae. Thus, we propose that L. saucia has the potential to be an effective natural enemy against A. bambucifoliae.
