The paper reviews the current state of caring in nursing from aspects of concept, function and education, and analyse the current situation of nursing care in China. It consider that care is the essence of nursing care. The paper proposes that the nurse care ability training need to be strengthen, caring course and related humanistic courses need to be increased in the nursing education. In clinical practice settings, continuous care training and management is necessary, supportive environments need to be provided and make care blend into clinical nursing work.
