Background: Insufficient nursing competence is a main reason for new nurses quilting job that also affect the shortage of clinical nurses. Object: The purpose of this stud y was to explore the nursing competences of nursing college students and related factors. Methods: This was a descriptive correlational study that structured clinical nursing competence scale was used to gather data. Results: The results showed that self-assessment of nursing college students is at the required level of nursing competency; they are most competent at communication and least competent at professional self-development. Nurse students who have good nursing care, communication, management, growth and overall performance also show a high level of interest in nursing and clinical practice scores. Conclusion: Findings provide a better understanding of the nursing competences of nursing college students; help the teachers designs more effective programs for nursing students.
